Exquisite Victorian cape in a lovely paisley fabric that has been heavily embroidered in bronze and gold tones to give a rich textured, heavy and luxurious finish.  The cape dates from the 1870s and is trimmed at the hem with coordinating velvet tassels and covered beads. There is some shaping at the shoulders and it has been recently relined in a yellowy gold, which is in keeping with the style of the cape.  It fastens at the front with hooks and eyes and is in excellent condition with no flaws to mention.
